We spent nearly a week at Clear Lake in Nice. And was it ever... It was a little hot, but by docking the boat within a block from the time share, we were able to spend lots of time cooling off on the lake. Pete's brother and sister-in-law came up with their daughters. It is so much fun to have little ones around. Pete made points by singing the Sponge Bob Square Pants theme. We spent most of the time talking like pirates with lots of arghs and matie this and that. Uno is always a big hit and we were able to play with ages between 3 and 50-something.
Uncle Pete taught the little ones to skipper the boat. The first morning was a big fish day, with all the fishers, Andy, Pete and Margaret bringing something in. The rest of the week, we didn't catch too many more.
This is one of the nicest Trendwest properties and we truly enjoyed the pool and dock. We just lounged around one day and did some wine tasting in the afternoon. We visited Tulip Hill, Ceago, and Guenoc winearies.
Most of the time we shared the lake with just the Clark's Grebes. They had a lot of little ones and we caught sight of many babies hitch-hiking on the backs of their parents. A few were still mating and doing their walking on water dances together. We also saw some Mule Deer, Buzzards, Carp, and some kind of hawks while exploring the lake.
